Before I use any grid register, I do three things.
First, I count by technology and then I sum by megawatts. The two answers differ. In the Transelectrica connection register, solar is 94 percent of the entries and under a fifth of the approved megawatts.
Second, I read the ten largest rows. One implausible value can move a total, and the register itself holds a biogas row of close to 3,000 MW.
Third, I normalise every text field I intend to group by. Two examples from the same file: the county field has 105 spellings for 42 counties, and one network operator appears under five spellings in the issuer field.
None of this makes the register wrong. It makes it a file typed by many hands, and a screen built on it should say so.
