One grid operator appears under five different spellings in the Transelectrica connection register, and that changes who looks biggest.

The register holds 5,119 entries as at 31 December 2025. Its issuer field, the network operator named on each connection permit (ATR), has 19 distinct values. One distribution operator accounts for 1,102 entries spread across five variants: all capitals, with and without a company suffix, with and without punctuation, and one with a diacritic. The most common single spelling covers 395 of them.

Count the field as written and that operator's best label holds 395 entries. Merge the five and it holds 1,102, more than any other single label in the file. A ranking of operators by raw label measures how people typed, not how many permits each operator issued.

In September we showed the same failure in the county field: 105 spellings for 42 counties. Normalising the text fields belongs at the start of any screen built on this file, not at the end.
