Before I rank anything in a connection register, I split it by voltage.

In the Transelectrica register, as at 31 December 2025, the average entry at 1 kV or below is about 0.04 MW. The average entry at 220 and 400 kV is about 259 MW. Same file, same column of approved megawatts, more than 7,000 times apart.

Voltage also tells me who I am dealing with. Every entry at 220 and 400 kV names Transelectrica as issuer. The small ones sit with distribution operators.

And it shows me where to look for errors. The largest row in the file is a biogas entry of 2,994 MW at 20 kV, which I treat as implausible until someone shows me otherwise. In an average, one row like that moves everything.

None of this says which band matters. It says a total or an average over the whole file mixes entries that have little in common.

Data as at 31 December 2025. Source: Transelectrica ATR connection register, 5,119 entries.

I follow the registers weekly in Sol Signals: https://sol-associates.ro/signals/
