Position as at 15 October 2026
The KP1 storage call closes on 30 October 2026 at 14:00 Bucharest time, 15 calendar days after this post. Four checks are worth making before the file is submitted on MySMIS2021.
- A finished feasibility study. It must be complete at submission, so a study still under way is the real gap, not the upload.
- The highlighted exclusions. Co-located storage, applications submitted in partnership, replacement of existing capacity, and double funding of the same eligible costs are four of the exclusions in the guide. It lists others, for example certain battery chemistries, so read the full text.
- Eligibility numbers that hold. The scheme needs at least 1 MW per storage installation and an energy-to-power ratio of at least 2:1. Two caps apply together: 69,000 EUR per MWh and 15 million EUR per enterprise, where aid across the applicant and its linked companies is aggregated.
- A plan for the grid connection permit (ATR). It is required by the first payment claim, not at submission, so the file needs a route to holding it by then.
None of this is bidding strategy. It is the order in which the requirements bind.
