Attribution and sources

Sol Signals and SEAP Radar are built from public sources, credited per item. This page lists the sources we draw on and the attribution line used for each. Individual issues use the line matching the sources actually feeding that issue.

News citations

We never reproduce a news article’s full text. Our citation format is: the original headline, followed by a one- or two-sentence factual summary in our own words, followed by the publication name, link and date.

A note on dates

Every dataset we cite carries a “Data as of” date. A dataset that is not refreshed by its next scheduled update is flagged as stale rather than silently reused.

Solar resource data © 2019 Solargis, from Global Solar Atlas 2.0 (World Bank Group, funded by ESMAP). Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Long-term yearly averages, 1994 to 2018. Modified by Sol Associates: clipped to Romania, resampled and recoloured for display (one image per layer, colour scale clipped to the 2nd to 98th percentile of the values). The World Bank Group, ESMAP and Solargis have not endorsed this use of the data. The licensor's additional dispute-resolution terms apply to this data; they are in LICENSE-DATA.txt of the Atlas, linked below.

Connection approvals (ATR): source Guvernul României (gov.ro), Lista titularilor care dețin ATR, published 25.04.2026, reproduced with the source named under the Government's legal conditions. The Government's list is a selection (holders of at least 1 MW in total) as published on that date; it may change, and it covers every stage from newly issued ATRs to recent commissioning. Aggregated by county by Sol Associates SRL. Rows identified as natural persons are excluded. Small groups are handled by threshold rules (at least 5 distinct holders per released figure, no holder above 80 percent of its MW), and figures that fail these tests are merged or withheld. These rules reduce, but cannot eliminate, the risk that a holder can be inferred when the figures are combined with the public Government list or other sources. The Government of Romania has not reviewed or endorsed this aggregation.
