Position as at 22 October 2026

A wind farm is eight work packages. Turbine delivery and erection are major schedule dependencies; grid, civil and other dependencies can also become critical.

The eight: access roads and oversize logistics, crane pads, foundations, the turbine supply and erection interface, the medium-voltage collection network, the substation and grid connection, SCADA, metering and storage integration, and commissioning and handover.

Unallocated interfaces can create delay and cost exposure. Depending on the contract terms, a contractor who cannot show a ready road, pad and foundation on the agreed date may carry crane standby, rescheduled deliveries and part of the owner's liquidated damages. Getting the interface matrix right before signing can matter more than a sharper unit rate.

Some Romanian specifics: connection works are executed by or for the grid operator, and work on networks and substations typically needs ANRE-attested firms. Check the governing law, dispute forum, contract language and interface obligations in each agreement; they may differ.

Generic practice only. Each manufacturer's own specification governs. General information, not investment, legal or regulatory advice; confirm requirements for your own scope.
