Position as at 22 October 2026
Before I look at a unit rate on a wind balance-of-plant package, I read the interface matrix.
Three questions come first.
Who signs the site-readiness certificate for each turbine position, and against what checklist? Where there is none, readiness becomes a dispute.
What happens to a delivery slot the site is not ready for? Depending on the contract, the manufacturer may be able to reallocate it to another project, and the delay may not stay a delay.
Which law governs which contract? Check the governing law, dispute forum, contract language and interface obligations in each agreement; they may differ. I would want them aligned before signing.
A sharper rate does not repair a gap in any of these. Depending on the contract terms, a contractor who cannot show a ready road, pad and foundation on the agreed date can carry crane standby and part of the owner's liquidated damages.
